More free Cookies For Heroes treats sent

Another five boxes of cookies have been sent out to our #EverydayHero nominees! Read some of the amazing reasons they were nominated:

D Group, West Lindsey, Lincolnshire Police

My team are small in number but this does not detract from the amazing work they do day in, day out. Working long hours and at times sacrificing time away from their families to help serve the public and keep them safe. I’m immensely proud of them all.

The Paediatric Emergency Department, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow

Over the last couple of years we have seen the busiest winters on record, looking after really sick children under extreme pressures. The team came together and managed to keep giving phenomenal care despite being exhausted and burnt out. It would be fantastic to let them know how much they are appreciated as winter comes again.

Neighbourhood Policing Team. Wrexham

I am nominating the neighbourhood policing team in Wrexham City Centre due to their dedication and commitment to providing the best service possible on a day to day basis. The team shows a constant dedication due to flexibility of working hours and days, is constantly adjusting to new demand and works tirelessly with patrol, other departments and external partnership agencies to ensure that demand is managed and community engagement is at the heart of everything they do.

Serious & Complex Collision Investigation Unit team, Cheshire Constabulary

Whenever someone is killed or seriously injured on the roads of Cheshire the SCCIU team carry out the investigations to ensure that justice is achieved for the victim or their families. Due to the nature of their work they see some awful sights and have to have very difficult conversations with victims and/or their families. They often work exceptionally long hours to ensure that justice is achieved but because they don’t fly about on blue lights their work goes largely unseen apart from by the victims families. It would be great if, for once, they receive some of the recognition they truly deserve.

Lois Scholes, Head of Student Services, Loreto Sixth Form College

Lois is an incredibly hard working and committed colleague who tirelessly supports our team and some of our most vulnerable students. She is an amazing teacher, colleague and a real inspiration to many. What's especially amazing is her ability to devote herself to her role so brilliantly whilst also being a mum to a two year old (with another on the way!). She has great ideas, is always looking forwards to new initiatives and is supremely focussed on making things better for her students and her colleagues.
